An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Mon): see the interesting displays at Christmas House Santa, then make a trip to Santa Claus Office, then make a trip to Santa Claus Village, and finally hit the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy. Keep things going the next day: take an exotic tour of a safari tour, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, and then make a trip to Lordi's Square.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Explore Levi's surroundings by going to Safaris (in Akaslompolo) and Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila). Spend the 13th (Thu) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi, get your game on at Kids' Land, stop by Elan Ski Shop & Rental, and fly down the slopes at Yllas Ski Resort.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Rovaniemi in January, plan for little chillier nights in Levi, with lows around -1°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
