Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Venture out of the city with trips to Inari (Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, &more). Spend the 19th (Mon) exploring nature at Urho Kekkonen National Park. There's more to do: surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel.

Turku to Saariselka is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Turku in July: highs in Saariselka hover around 20°C, while lows dip to 11°C. Rovaniemi

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
When in Rovaniemi, make a side trip to see Ranua Zoo in Ranua, approximately Ranua away. There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke, and Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell.
