Jyvaskyla

— 7 nights
Jyväskylä is a city and municipality in Finland and in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. Venture out of the city with trips to Karstula (Kirkkovuori Nature Observation Tower & Car Museum Wanhat Wehkeet), Petajavesi Old Church (in Petajavesi) and Leivonmaki National Park (in Joutsa). There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at The Alvar Aalto Museum, admire the landmark architecture of Kuokkalan kartano, get a new perspective on nature at Natural History Museum of Central Finland, and take an in-depth tour of The Craft Museum of Finland.

For reviews, where to stay, maps, and other tourist information, you can read our Jyvaskyla itinerary website.

Helsinki to Jyvaskyla is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or fly. Traveling from Helsinki in June, Jyvaskyla is a bit cooler at night with lows of 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Tue) early enough to drive back home.
