Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sun): steep yourself in history at Amuri Museum of Workers' Housing, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tampereen Tuomiokirkko, and then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Sarkanniemi Theme Park. On the shores of the country's largest lake system, Lappeenrata serves as the economic and cultural center of southeast Finland.
Step out of Lappeenranta to go to Kouvola and see Repovesi National Park, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's much more to do: admire the sheer force of Imatra Waterfall, pause for some serene contemplation at Nuijamaa Church, don't miss a visit to Sandcastle Lappeenranta, and contemplate the waterfront views at Saimaa Canal.
