Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Helsinki Cathedral are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Escape the urban bustle at Pihlajasaari Recreational Park and Hietaranta Beach. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Helsinki: Fagerö Kaunissaari (in Pyhtaa) and Kaitalampi (in Espoo). Sitting at the mouth of the Aura River, Turku is one of Finland's quaintest and most historically rich towns.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Fri): explore the world behind art at Turku Art Museum, explore the historical opulence of Turku Castle, then learn about all things military at Forum Marinum Maritime Centre, and finally see the interesting displays at Pharmacy Museum and Qwensel House. On your second day here, enjoy the music at Sibeliusmuseum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Turku Cathedral, then take an in-depth tour of Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova, and finally examine the collection at Luostarinmaen Kasityolaismuseo.
