Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Popular historic sites such as Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum are in your itinerary. Temppeliaukio Church and Turku Castle are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Turku (Turku Cathedral & Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova), Nuuksio National Park (in Espoo) and Porvoo (Brunberg Candy Factory Shop & Cathedral of Porvoo). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Mannerheim Museum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pyhan Kolminaisuuden kirkko, take an in-depth tour of The National Museum of Finland, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Aurinkolahti Beach.
