Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Sat): look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, then see the interesting displays at Christmas House Santa, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church.

Beirut, Lebanon to Rovaniemi is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of car and train. In November, Rovaniemi is much colder than Beirut - with highs of -2°C and lows of -7°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 24th (Sat) so you can go by car to Inari.

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. On the 25th (Sun), examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Inari in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. November in Inari sees daily highs of -3°C and lows of -10°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sun) early enough to travel to Helsinki.

Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Step off the beaten path and head to Kansallisgalleria and Teijo National Park. Get outdoors at Bellevue Beach and Paavolan Tammi. Step out of Helsinki to go to Espoo and see Nuuksio National Park, which is approximately 48 minutes away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and don't miss a visit to Hakaniemi Market.

Traveling by flight from Inari to Helsinki takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train.
