An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.

Rovaniemi is known for wildlife, museums, and fun & games. Valletta, Malta to Rovaniemi is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Valletta to Rovaniemi. Traveling from Valletta in December, expect Rovaniemi to be much colder, temps between -6°C and -13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to drive to Levi.

Drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December, plan for daily highs up to -6°C, and evening lows to -15°C. You'll set off for home on the 16th (Mon).
