Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for museums, nightlife, and wildlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, and enjoy some diversion at Santa Claus Office.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Levi: Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila) and Seven Fells Up (in Akaslompolo). Spend the 8th (Sat) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi and head outdoors with Outdoor Activities.

Traveling by car from Rovaniemi to Levi takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect slightly colder evenings in Levi when traveling from Rovaniemi in January, with lows around -21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) so you can drive to Saariselka.
