Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for wildlife, museums, and fun & games. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Santa Claus Village, find something for the whole family at Moomin Snowcastle, see Santa Claus Office, and see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Mon): fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and then pause for some serene contemplation at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel. On the 2nd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, then get in on the family fun at Angry Birds Activity Park, and then examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Levi: Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila) and Safaris (in Akaslompolo). Spend the 4th (Thu) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. The adventure continues: bet on your favorite at Icekarting Levi, look for all kinds of wild species at Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm, take in the exciting artwork at LUVATTUMAA - Levi Ice Gallery, and hit the slopes at Yllas Ski Resort.

You can fly from Saariselka to Levi in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In February in Levi, expect temperatures between -5°C during the day and -12°C at night. On the 5th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
