Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Saariselka: Inari (Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, &more). The adventure continues: hit the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park, get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, find something for the whole family at Angry Birds Activity Park, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Take a break from Rovaniemi with a short trip to Ranua Zoo in Ranua, about 1 hour away. Next up on the itinerary: take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, make a trip to Lordi's Square, see Santa Claus Office, and admire the masterpieces at Korundi House of Culture.
