Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Wed): surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour and then hit the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park. On the next day, fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saariselka S:t Paulus Chapel.

Traveling by car from Levi to Saariselka takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around -1°C in March, and nighttime lows around -12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Thu) early enough to drive to Rovaniemi.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Fri): surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, see Santa Claus Office, and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village. On the 27th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, then take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, and then don't miss a visit to Lordi's Square.

Drive from Saariselka to Rovaniemi in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Rovaniemi can reach -1°C, while at night they dip to -9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly back home.
