An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Mon): learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Ranua Zoo and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church. On the next day, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, see Santa Claus Office, and then don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village.

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Wed): hit the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park. On your second day here, look for all kinds of wild species at Lapland Safaris Saariselka and then see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center.
