Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Helsinki is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, admire the landmark architecture of Helsinki Central Railway Station, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Temppeliaukio Church, and make a trip to The Esplanadi Park.

On the 2nd (Sun), join the crowd at Icekarting Levi and then stop by Elan Ski Shop & Rental. On the next day, explore the landscape on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort.

Getting from Helsinki to Levi by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Helsinki in January, things will get a bit cooler in Levi: highs are around -11°C and lows about -21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Mon) early enough to go by car to Rovaniemi.

Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Kick off your visit on the 4th (Tue): find something for the whole family at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus and then get engrossed in the history at Arktikum. On the 5th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, and then see Santa Claus Office.

You can drive from Levi to Rovaniemi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Levi in January, Rovaniemi is a bit warmer at night with lows of -17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) to allow enough time to fly back home.
