Helsinki is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rovaniemi: Amethyst Mine Lapland (in Luosto) and Arctic Husky Farm (in Pelkosenniemi). Next up on the itinerary: don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, get in on the family fun at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, let the kids burn off some steam at Angry Birds Park, and see Santa Claus Office.
