Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Get a sense of the local culture at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Temppeliaukio Church. Take a break from Helsinki with a short trip to Sipoonkorven Kansallispuisto in Vantaa, about 30 minutes away. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Arktikum and then identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas. On the 29th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Ranua Zoo and then make a trip to Santa Claus Village.
