Finland's third largest city, Tampere boasts an array of cultural offerings and a lively music scene.
Pack the 2nd (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Sarkanniemi Theme Park. An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sun): make a trip to Lordi's Square, then meet the residents at Ranua Zoo, and then engage your brain at Pilke Science Centre. Here are some ideas for day two: find something for the whole family at Moomin Snowcastle, see Santa Claus Office, make a trip to Santa Claus Village, then Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church.
