An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Ranua Zoo in Ranua--about 1 hour away. Next up on the itinerary: get engrossed in the history at Arktikum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Rovaniemi Church, see Santa Claus Office, and engage your brain at Science Centre Pilke.
