Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Rovaniemi is known for museums, nightlife, and wildlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, have fun at Santa Claus Office, and examine the collection at Christmas House Santa.

Levi

Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Get out of town with these interesting Levi side-trips: Lapland Hotels SnowVillage (in Kittila) and Seven Fells Up (in Akaslompolo). Spend the 1st (Tue) on two wheels at Levi Ski Resort. There's still lots to do: join the crowd at Icekarting Levi and get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.

You can drive from Rovaniemi to Levi in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Rovaniemi in January, expect a bit cooler with lows of -21°C in Levi. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed) early enough to drive to Saariselka.

Saariselka

— 3 nights
Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Explore Saariselka's surroundings by going to Inari (The Sami Cultural Centre Sajos & Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center). Spend the 5th (Sat) exploring nature at Urho Kekkonen National Park. There's more to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour and fly down the slopes at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort.

You can drive from Levi to Saariselka in 3.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In February, daytime highs in Saariselka are -6°C, while nighttime lows are -15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Sat) early enough to go by car back home.
