Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Go for a jaunt from Rovaniemi to Ranua to see Ranua Zoo about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village, take an in-depth tour of Arktikum, pause for some serene contemplation at Rovaniemi Church, and get curious at Pilke Science Centre.
