Official Hometown of Santa Claus

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
On the 31st (Tue), get lost in a book at Rovaniemi City Library, then Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell, then explore the different monuments and memorials at German Soldier s Cemetery, and finally explore the world behind art at Korundi House of Culture. On the next day, get your game on at Snowman World Igloo Hotel, then see the interesting displays at Santa's House of Snowmobiles, and then hit the slopes at Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy.

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. On the 4th (Sat), tour the pleasant surroundings at Juutua Nature Trail, pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, and then get outside with Lake Inari. On your second day here, examine the collection at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, then experience rural life at Inari Reindeer Farm, and then wander the wide-open spaces of Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus.
