Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Kick off your visit on the 1st (Wed): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Tryphon Pechenga Orthodox Church and then get a taste of life in the country at Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center and then pause for some serene contemplation at Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Arktikum and Santa's House of Snowmobiles are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step off the beaten path and head to Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy and German Soldier s Cemetery. Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Ranua Zoo in Ranua--about 1 hour away. The adventure continues: tour the pleasant surroundings at Napapiirin Porofarmi, see Santa Claus Office, get in on the family fun at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, and make a trip to Santa Claus Village.
