An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Step off the beaten path and head to Ounasvaaran Hiihtokeskus Oy and Napapiirin Porofarmi. Step out of Rovaniemi with an excursion to Ranua Zoo in Ranua--about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: get in on the family fun at SantaPark - the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, see Santa Claus Office, let the kids burn off some steam at Angry Birds Park, and don't miss a visit to Santa Claus Village.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Wed): wander the wide-open spaces of Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus and then relax in the rural setting at Inari Reindeer Farm.
